Railway Day takes place on November 26. We met with Infranord, a partner for the day, and took the opportunity to ask a few questions.

Hello Stefan Gustavsson, President and CEO of Infranord. Railway Day brings together industry players to discuss the future – what makes you want to be part of that conversation?

– The railway industry needs to continue working to achieve vision 2050 and our operations are an important part of that work. I am participating to take that dialogue further and, together with my industry colleagues, work to realize our shared vision.

If you could wish for one thing that would solve the challenges within the railways in Sweden - what would it be?

– We must reduce the maintenance debt, but to be able to do that, we need to attract more employees to the industry. To do this, more railway training and training facilities are needed around the country, but also financial support for training and simpler and clearer guidelines for training actors.

What does your company contribute to the railway system?

– Infranord delivers complete and sustainable overall solutions on the Swedish and Norwegian markets to maintain and develop the railway. With innovation, new technology and high competence, we drive the development of today's and tomorrow's railways forward.
